Computing Week
Old Hall pupils enjoyed taking part in Computing Week 2022. Pupils from across the school were able to engage in activities including:
QR code scavenger hunt to find hidden treasures. We used iPads to scan QR codes that revealed the place of the next clue.
Metal detectors to explore materials and find metals. We also used these to find foil wrapped chocolate treasures in sensory trays.
Soundbeam Music – We explored different ways of playing and making music with our multi-sensory equipment.
Switch adapted toys and sound/light toys. These helped us to explore cause and effect.
Early programming with remote control vehicles and Bee Bots.
We stepped on our interactive stepping-stones to play recordings of facts about our chocolate topic. We also used microphones to record facts that we had learnt about Chocolate.
A recorded story about the origins of Chocolate.
Sensory light up zone/tent – we enjoyed exploring various glow resources in our blackout sensory tent.
Computing Week was a great success and we are looking forward to exploring our wonderful resources in learning across the curriculum.
