Holi Celebrations

At Old Hall, we linked the Hindu celebration of Holi with the subject of Art to create a School Art project. Holi is the festival of Spring and colour. Pupils used a range of alternative methods and resources to generate vibrant and colourful Artwork, there was not a single paintbrush in sight. Instead, pupils used marbles, shaving foam, teabags, splatter painting, blow painting, etc. to create their masterpieces. Some classes even had the opportunity to throw powdered paint at their teacher - creating a colourful person and mimicking Holi traditions.

We took all the Artwork and presented it in an Art Gallery style exhibition, enabling the pupils to view each other's work. We have created a video tour of this for you to see the Artwork from home. We also created colourful handprints of every child in school, to make into a giant rainbow which will be displayed at the front of school. Keep an eye out for it next week.
